梁家輝,關之琳,胡楓,陳雅倫,周文健,梅小惠,鄭丹瑞,黎彼得,張堅庭建筑師托尼（梁家輝 飾）的個性十分木訥老實，以至于他暗戀同時艾琳（陳雅倫 飾）多年，卻總也鼓不起勇氣表白，更糟的是，艾琳已有一位感情親密的男友，托尼的單戀似乎注定不會有結果。一次偶然中，托尼被猛鬼纏身，索性得到名為嘉嘉（關之琳 飾）的女鬼相助才得以脫身，也正因為這件事，托尼擁有了能與嘉嘉心意相通的特異功能。 得知了托尼的苦戀，熱心的嘉嘉決定幫他一把，一番波折之后，艾琳終于離開了男友，投入了托尼的懷抱，可是，直到這時，托尼才發現自己其實早已經深深的愛上了嘉嘉，無奈人鬼殊途，無法承受分離之苦的托尼竟然決定殉情。

All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present. Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
