阿敏(張敏 飾)與小妹(侯炳瑩 飾)自幼隨繼父(成奎安 飾)一起生活,一家生活雖清苦,卻也其樂融融。 成年后的阿敏在理發(fā)店打工,補(bǔ)貼家用,供小妹讀書。一日偶遇舞女阿紅(鐘楚紅 飾)與幾個(gè)生意合伙人沖突。阿敏不畏威脅,挺身助阿紅,二人遂結(jié)下友情。 風(fēng)云不測,繼父 遭人陷害入獄,母親一病不起。阿敏要在短時(shí)間內(nèi)籌錢,只有下海作舞女。 在領(lǐng)班Cat媽(瑪利亞 飾)的代領(lǐng)下,阿敏進(jìn)入全港最紅的舞廳,并再次巧遇阿紅。 辛酸的舞女生活,阿敏在阿紅的代領(lǐng)下慢慢地成長起來。二人面臨各種艱難險(xiǎn)阻,相互扶持照顧,結(jié)下生死情誼。 眼看父親即將出獄,生活漸漸有了希望,1988年股市的崩頹卻又如晴天霹靂般摧毀了一切。 阿紅多年買股票的錢全部虧空,自殺未遂。為救好友阿敏只有委身大惡人唐彬(秦沛 飾),誰料確是噩夢的開始。到底阿敏與阿紅能否挺過這一關(guān)?是否苦難生活能夠柳暗花明?

Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
