電影講述了一對夫妻羅宇（肖央 飾）與白慧（宋佳 飾）在離婚冷靜期中，以律師和醫生的身份卷入一樁失獨老人（倪大紅 飾）的胚胎歸屬權糾紛案件。隨著離婚冷靜期結束時間越來越近，兩人在此期間也慢慢地對自己、對婚姻、對家庭有了新的認知。
