中山優(yōu)馬,島崎遙香,大野拓朗,高橋瑪莉潤,安井謙太郎,大和田伸也自幼能夠看到恐怖幽靈的八神森司(中山優(yōu)馬 飾),在高中時邂逅了被神秘鬼影糾纏的后輩小歷(島崎遙香 飾)。他雖然喜歡對方,卻由于自身膽怯的性格始終無法表白。第一年沒有考上大學(xué),經(jīng)過一番努力森司如愿進(jìn)入期望的高校,并且和小歷重逢。在此期間,他聽說小歷和童年好友加入了某個超自然研究會,聯(lián)想到高中的事件,森司無法對小歷放任不管,于是也硬著頭皮加入進(jìn)去。這群個性滿滿的年輕人每天追蹤各類神秘事件,不久后校園內(nèi)開始出現(xiàn)離奇現(xiàn)象,而小歷也成為惡靈狙擊的目標(biāo)…… 本片根據(jù)第19屆日本恐怖小說大獎讀者獎獲得者櫛木理宇的同名作品改編。

All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present. Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
