　　Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.

　　1945年抗戰勝利前夕，侵華日軍第七三一部隊在哈爾濱平房區以“給水防疫”為名，秘密進行慘無人道的細菌戰研究，大肆抓捕平民進行活體實驗，妄圖以此扭轉敗局。小販王永章（姜武 飾）等人被強行抓入“特設監獄”，日軍以“配合健康檢查與防疫研究即可換取自由”的虛偽承諾，欺騙他們遭受凍傷實驗、毒氣實驗、活體解剖等極端折磨……　　影片通過平民視角揭露日軍反人類暴行，展現絕境下國人不屈的反抗精神，旨在讓世人銘記歷史，勿忘國恥，捍衛和平。

改編自柘植義春的漫畫《海邊的抒景》《混沌洞的笨先生》，講述郁郁不得志的李編劇因緣際會來到一個大雪紛飛的深山中，誤打誤撞進入了一家破舊的旅館。屋頂幾乎被積雪壓塌，旅館的老板笨造看起來毫無干勁，旅館里沒有暖氣，飯菜也馬馬虎虎，連床鋪都得自己鋪。然而，笨造似乎藏著什么秘密。某天晚上，笨造帶著李踏入了夜晚雪原……

　　為了能讓身患老年癡呆癥的父親重回正常的生活，威爾·羅曼（詹姆斯·弗蘭科 James Franco 飾）一直致力于名為“Cure”的基因藥物的開發，并在大猩猩身上不斷進行著藥物試驗。在公司已經失去信心的同時，威爾繼續在家完成試驗，并在一只名為凱撒的大猩猩身上獲得成功。借助靈長類學家卡洛琳（芙蕾達·平托 Freida Pinto 飾）的幫助，威爾發現凱撒的智力極大地提高。不過，人類的社會始終無法接受擁有極高智力的凱撒，凱撒被送往了猩猩看護所。看護所的殘酷對待，使得凱撒利用智慧進行抗爭，最終救走了同時被囚禁的其他猩猩，而且對它們都使用了Cure。一群高智商的猩猩與人類對立的戰爭就此拉開。本片獲得了第84屆奧斯卡最佳視覺效果的提名。
