　　芝加哥又迎來了晴朗的一天，逃學高手菲利斯（馬修?布羅德里克 Matthew Broderick 飾）自然不會在這天選擇枯燥的測驗，他偽裝病重騙過父母，令同校的姐姐珍妮徒勞嫉妒。菲利斯找來好友凱倫（阿蘭?盧克 Alan Ruck 飾），兩人聯手騙過訓導主任羅寧，駕駛凱倫父親珍藏的法拉利將菲利斯女友思朗接出學校兜風，菲利斯嫻熟的電話騙術在凱倫和思朗的配合下將眾人戲弄的團團亂轉，學生們反而受他的影響頗深，在校內發起給菲利斯謊稱的手術捐款。羅寧不堪忍受菲利斯一次次得欺騙，“微服私訪”去校外希望能將菲利斯捉個正形，而在城中四處游蕩的菲利斯三人則展開了一場隱藏自己身份的冒險……

好像一切都很糟糕

Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
