明朝永樂年間，西安少年曹文廣因為家境貧寒，生活非常艱辛，不想甘于貧窮的曹文廣，決心為報答養母養育之情且光耀家門，于是他從小刻苦讀詩書。在他18歲時，曹文廣前往京城赴京趕考，途中因瓢潑大雨在一座深山寺廟中遇見由蛇精幻化成的仙女，這過程中歷經了很多艱難苦難，但是曹文廣并沒有因為仙女是蛇精而拋棄她，反而與蛇精展開了一段神奇的戀情，最后他不僅與其結夫妻，最重要還到一批寶藏。

Anna is stuck: she's approaching 30, living like a hermit in her mum's garden shed and wondering why the suffragettes ever bothered.
