真相與幻想之間的界限是什么？感官是否能助我們認識世界？影片用一個攝影師的故事，鋪開了一系列哲學、心理學的問號。主角是攝影師托馬斯(戴維  David Hemmings飾)，某天他在公園里抓拍到年輕情侶的系列照片，出人意表的是，照片中的一個女子簡(瓦妮莎雷德格瑞夫 Vanessa Redgrave飾)竟然不惜一切代價要回她的底片。這讓托馬斯非常疑惑，他相信這張照片許是拍下了某些不可告人的秘密。果然，他把照片放大后，看到了一具尸體和一個拿著槍的人。一樁謀殺案的雛形在托馬斯腦中展開。他前往公園尋到了尸體，但沒有人肯相信他的推測，朋友們不愿意和他一起調查這是怎么回事。第二天，當托馬斯再次來到公園，發現尸體已經消失無蹤。只剩下一群人進行著一場虛擬的網球賽，打著并不存在的的網球。

Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
