愛的作用

一天清晨，刑警驚覺自己的搭檔失去了音訊。事實上，搭檔在夜晚返家的途中，意外目睹一起犯罪行為。不料現場突然發生提款機爆炸，她身受重傷，隨即被犯人綁走。

　　黑心鬼（午馬 飾）原是百年前的善長人翁，好事做盡，卻令田地善惡不平衡，故被罰在陽間害九名貪心之人后方可投胎；陳康泰（陳友 飾）誤放出尿壺中的黑心鬼，被贈予三個愿望，試驗其是否貪心之人。康泰之弟星辰（莫少聰 飾）替兄頂罪而被解雇，寄居兄長家中，被惡嫂梅賽花（梅艷芳 飾）逼做男傭，因而邂逅女鬼梅蘭花（梅艷芳 飾），另一方面，黑心鬼限期將至，決定完成康泰最后愿望后便取其性命，康泰能否度過此劫……

　　因母親染病，青年李恩洙（千正明 飾）驅車向家中趕去，但中途遭遇車禍，翻到路邊。當他從昏迷中醒來時，發現眼前站著一個有如天使般的女孩子（沈恩京 飾）。在這個名叫英姬的女孩的引導下，恩洙隨之來到了女孩位于密林深處的家。那是一幢宛如從童話書中出來的夢幻而華美的大房子，家中擺放著各種各樣精巧可愛的飾品。這里住著英姬、她的父母、哥哥萬福（殷元宰 飾）以及妹妹貞順（陳智熙 飾）。疲勞疼痛的恩洙起初并未察覺絲毫一樣，可是他很快便發現，如此美好的童話所在竟成為永遠無法逃離的樊籬……　　本片榮獲2009年葡萄牙奇幻國際電影節評委會特別獎。

　　Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
